About the person
Suzana Jovičić studied Psychological and Psychiatric Anthropology (MSc) at Brunel University in London and did her PhD in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Vienna as a DOC-team Fellow of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. For her dissertation "Scrolling, Swiping, Snapping: In-between Smartphone Practices & the Politics of Doing Nothing among Youths on the Margins of Vienna" she received the sowi:doc Award of the University of Vienna. Her research and teaching visits have been at UCL, James Cook University Singapore, RMIT, Monash University and University of Cologne. She worked in interdisciplinary projects at CSLEARN Educational Technologies and Computational Empowerment Lab at the University of Vienna and was a Post-DocTrack Fellow of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
She currently works as a Lecturer and Researcher at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Vienna. She is PI of the ESPRIT (FWF) project "Smartphone Addiction" and co-PI of the project We:Design (AK DigiFonds).

Suzana Jovičić studierte Psychologische und Psychiatrische Anthropologie (MSc) an der Brunel University in London und promovierte in Sozial- und Kulturanthropologie an der Universität Wien als DOC-team-Stipendiatin der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften. Für ihre Dissertation „Scrolling, Swiping, Snapping: In-between Smartphone Practices & the Politics of Doing Nothing among Youths on the Margins of Vienna“ erhielt sie den sowi:doc Award der Universität Wien. Forschungs- und Lehraufenthalte führten sie unter anderem an das UCL, die James Cook University in Singapur, die RMIT, die Monash University sowie die Universität zu Köln.
Sie arbeitete in interdisziplinären Projekten am CSLEARN Educational Technologies und am Computational Empowerment Lab der Universität Wien und war Post-DocTrack-Stipendiatin der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften.
Derzeit ist sie Lektorin und Forscherin am Institut für Sozial- und Kulturanthropologie der Universität Wien. Sie ist Projektleiterin (PI) des ESPRIT-(FWF)-Projekts „Smartphone Addiction“ und Co-PI des Projekts We:Design (AK DigiFonds).
